Yelarbon State School is part of the MacIntyre Zone. This allows students from our school to participate in all zone athletics, swimming, touch football, rugby league, netball, cricket, cross country, basketball, hockey and tennis events.

As a small school Yelarbon participates in the MacIntyre Small Schools' Swimming Carnival and MacIntyre Small Schools' Athletics Carnival competing against small schools (Talwood, Bungunya, Kioma, Lundavra, Kindon) in our district.
