"Confidence comes not from always being right, but not fearing to be wrong." For students to be risk takers at school they must be in a learning environment that they perceive to be safe. In other words, students must be given the opportunity to share their thoughts, participate in open discussions and learn new ideas which are both stimulating and meaningful. This philosophy has been adopted into the current teachings at Yelarbon State School with the hope that each student will become a risk taker. So with this as a motivating factor in student learning exploring the unknown should become a welcome challenge for each student.
At Yelarbon State School, we offer a primary school curriculum of English, Mathematics, Technology, Science, SOSE, HPE, L.O.T.E, Arts and Music. Technology is heavily embeded across the curriculum via the Internet, Email, PowerPoint presentations and the creation of Web pages. We have weekly visits with Mrs Sam Brown who is a specialist music teacher.

How computers are used to assist learning
Computers are used for whole of class, group and individual activities on a daily basis. The school has an excellent array of technological devices to aid their use of the computers and to allow for the use of computers to be integrated into all key learning areas. The computer and technological resources at the school are seen and used as a way to engage students in the learning process rather than a peripheral to our daily curriculum.
The use of computers is considered vital to enable students to be able to fully interact with the varying emerging literacies that can now be accessed by students whilst using computers
