Principal's Welcome PDF Print E-mail

Welcome to Yelarbon State School. My name is Philippa Sly and I am the current Principal. Yelarbon School is a great place, with friendly students and staff. Currently our school has 33 students which consist of a Prep-Year 3 class with 16 students and a Year 4-7 class with 17 students.

Yelarbon State School has a very close relationship with community members, with volunteers teaching religion and every fortnight. Students also participate in music weekly with our visiting music teacher, Mrs Brown and every year participate in the Goondiwindi Apex Eisteddford held in August.

Being a small school we have the opportunity to participate in Small Schools Sport and represent the MacIntyre Zone in swimming, athletics, netball, basketball, soccer, cricket, touch football and cross country.

Throughout the year Yelarbon School has visits from PCAP, Arts Council and different cultural events. However our school is not limited to staying in Yelarbon. In previous years we have been on camps to Dubbo, Sunshine Coast, Brisbane and the Gold Coast.

Whilst Yelarbon State School is small you can see that we do not miss out on anything, being small allows us to help students individually.
